Michelle Newbery serves as president of The Mine, a Seattle-based online home furnishings company that combines one-on-one Personal Concierge service with a “killer selection” of high-quality products.
The Mine partners with leading designers and customer care innovators to take residential and commercial projects from concept to completion by supporting a unique fine furnishings collection with hyper-personalized service, product assembly and installation.
Newbery joined The Mine, formerly ATGStores.com, in December 2011 as the company’s chief financial officer. She assumed the role of president in November 2013.
Over the past six years, Newbery has spearheaded several rebranding initiatives, including the company’s debut as The Mine, which launched in April 2017. This latest transition, the result of more than two years of intensive work and research, introduces an elite U.S.-based Customer Care team and a new product selection that features brands curated by today’s leading designers.
Newbery continues to lead brand evolution by establishing The Mine as a trusted, knowledgeable name in the global design community. Her decision to invite world-renowned designer Alexa Hampton and designer-author Eddie Ross to serve as The Mine’s creative director and style director, respectively, has produced valuable design and brand partnerships, and has elevated the company’s profile in media channels that include Traditional Home, House Beautiful and Architectural Digest, among others.
Newbery is a licensed CPA and holds a master’s degree in accounting from Florida Atlantic University. She brings more than 18 years of business leadership to ATGStores.com, and has also held roles at Lowe’s, Jarden and Deloitte & Touche.
When she’s not working, Newbery enjoys biking, running and taking in the beauty of the Pacific Northwest with her husband and two children.
